Trend Watch: Mens Accessories FW18

Fall and winter are fast approaching and as much as we'd rather be sipping on mimosa's in this +30 weather all year long, it's time to start prepping our wardrobe. And what better way to ease into the chillier months than by slowly incorporating accessories!

Earlier this year some of the hottest menswear looks for Fall/Winter 2018 walked down the runway, so naturally today we're taking a look at the stellar accessories that accompanied them. From bags to hats and everything in between, accessories stole the show this year. Here's your menswear accessories trend watch:

Sling Bag

Sling bags are all the rage right now. Brands such as Louis Vuitton (pictured below) and Tom Ford were seen adorning their male models on the runway with this epic 80's inspired statement piece. And it hasn't only made it's mark on the runway, celebrities such as Travis Scott and Liam Payne have been quick to adopt and incorporate the sling bag into their everyday looks, so we predict this as one of the top - if not THE top - trend for menswear.

Statement Shades

Tom Ford nailed it with the statement sunglasses this year for the Fall/Winter 2018 runway. Large and in charge, the sunglasses ranged in color and shape. Our favourite? The classic black oversized square frames. They're chic yet scream confidence, and we can't get enough.

Patterned Scarves

Cozy up this Fall/Winter with a large flannel scarf. This year on the runway, plaid scarves made their return on the menswear runway. With a focus on black, white, and red tones, it's a trend that can easily be incorporated into everyday looks while still adding flare. We especially love this scarf - and look - by Thom Browne.

Military Vest

One of the edgiest trends we saw on the runway that we haven't stopped obsessing over. The military vest walked the runways of designers such as Death to Tennis (pictured below) and Dyne. This accessory ranges in styles, from a full on vest covering the whole upper body, to smaller straps covering sections of the body (all the way to the thigh!). With it's growth in popularity in just a few short months, it's a trend we predict will grow in the up and coming months.

Oversized Bags And Chic Totes

Bigger is better this year for Fall/Winter 2018. Following the oh-so popular oversized jacket trend, designers from all over had men strut their stuff with a larger than life bag. In many cases, they came in a variety of colors and patterns. So this year for Fall/Winter, step up your bag game and opt for a bright yellow tote like this one designed by Bottega Veneta.

The Dad Hat

Can you really blame designers for bringing back the dad hat? Effortless and cool, the baseball cap makes a return. Complimenting the coveted street wear style that's been stealing the hearts of - well everyone - Junya Watanabe and designers alike complimented their looks with a neutral dad hat. Want to sport this trend? Why not dig up your dads old baseball cap? The older and more dad-esk, the better!

And that completes the biggest trends in accessories for men! With the plethora of accessories showcased this year for Fall/Winter 2018, you'll never be out of options.
