So we are here to give you the lowdown on our drugstore must-haves! You can definitely get away with only having these tried-and-true products in your kit this summer for that perfect natural glow.
It’s often compared to the highly coveted Nars Radiant Creamy concealer — and we agree. The pigmented but blendable formula is the best for dark circles, late-night study session eye bags, and covering up those pesky spots that sometimes decide to accompany you on your Saturday night date. An added bonus, Maybelline just launched 6 new shades this year!
We can’t believe this product is so affordable. If you want a beautiful, smooth formula without the glitter, this is the perfect “glow from within” highlighter. It’s subtle enough to dust all over your face, but build it up and your cheeks will GLOW in a dark room. We’ve seen it work its magic.
The tip is ultra fine for drawing hair-like strands, the spoolie brush is perfect for grooming those bold brows, and the formula is smooth. It provides a quick, easy application and it’s super long-lasting! Think Brow Wiz, but easily accessible at your local drugstore.
NYX is well known for their extensive lip product selection. However, after a long debate, this one takes the cake. The formula on this liquid lippie is exactly what its name suggests. The colour range is phenomenal, the smooth application is easy, it lasts extremely long, and we love a good liquid lipstick that doesn’t dry out our lips. Wait — a matte lipstick that also keeps the moisture in your lips? What more can you ask for? Try it with their Suede Matte Lip Liner underneath for even more comfort and durability.
Now that it’s available in Shoppers Drug Mart all over Canada, you’ll never need another setting spray again (at least that’s what us beauty junkies like to tell ourselves). Use this before and after makeup application or throughout the day — we even spray it in our hair sometimes. Along with the refreshing smell of roses and green tea, this light mist sets makeup so it looks natural and adds a dewy glow to the skin. The best part is that your makeup will stay put all day.
This liquid highlighting formula comes in 4 beautiful shades for a variety of skin tones. We love using this under our foundation base to add a gorgeous luminosity, leaving our skin blessed with the “golden hour” look all throughout the day. Or use it on top of your foundation to emphasize those cheekbones with a natural looking dew!
An oldie but goodie. This is by no means a new product release, but it’s truly one of the best. Skip the $30 mascara and opt for this miracle worker. No matter how your natural lashes sit, this will lengthen and volumize. It comes in brown, black, very black, and won’t budge or flake throughout the day (we’re not talking about the waterproof version!). Still, washing it off is hassle-free and your eyelashes won’t fall out during removal.
Keep in mind the DIVINE smell of piña colada as you read. Physicians Formula hit the nail on the head with this bronzer. It’s smooth and blends out seamlessly on the skin, it’s the perfect bronze tone without being too warm or too cool, and it has a bit of a glow (without glitter) that will give you all the confidence in the world if a little bit of colour is all you need.
We have no complaints about this product except: PLEASE give us more shades! It only comes in 3 shades, but this formula is amazing. You’ll have to try it yourself to see it in action… We promise you won’t be disappointed.
