For small businesses like Libertine, the closure of business was an undesirable outcome of the pandemic. With illness and fear spreading across nations, local businesses were challenged with unforeseen circumstances - forcing a new way of living and a changed mindset. Through the devastation, however, comes rebirth. Today, Libertine moves forward with its latest collection and a mission to provide impactful pieces while setting forth a path of utter authenticity.
Celebrating 20 years of fresh and invigorating fashion, this past week Libertine unveiled their Spring/Summer 2021: Ghosts From Our Past collection, taking notions from runways past and the current reality of the pandemic.
For SS21 Libertine took a look back in time. Focusing on the roots of the brand, the label pulled inspiration from the designer's personal past such as fabric purchased from Paris 20 years ago or a family sewing machine from the '50s. Within the collection the designer also paid tribute to the brand's inaugural collection, using original silk-screen images, ribbon and frayed seams. Throughout the Spring/Summer collection, you experience vivacious patterns and dynamic structures that elevated each eclectic look. Accessories such as hats and masks we're also featured adding to the allure of the designer's theme.
