DAMOWANG Celebrates Modern and Traditional For SS20

As a designer, inspiration can be drawn from virtually anywhere. For some it can mean sharing pieces that resonate with a personal journey, for others, it can mean taking a more cultural or political stance. For SS20, DAMOWANG drew inspiration from WU XIA and its continued influence and representation on modern China. Using both modern and traditional elements Designer Mr. Han Lei put an emphasis on empowering women within a contemporary climate.

Using modern design technique with traditional image, Designer Mr. Han Lei, mixed "layered fabrics, wool, flax, organza, coating, rope, animal texture, fish net, sheepskin, meteor hammer, bamboo tube, headscarf, cloth bag, etc". Further he, as he noted, "turned the classical square plaid pattern, oversize shoulder-pads, various colors, the splicing and superimposition of different materials into a wonderful adhesive-collocating the ancient and modern elements in a new way.”

His collection didn't stop at clothing, in it DAMOWANG collaborated with MYWANTS (a successful collab from last season) for shoes and MESHEEN on bags - resulting in a truly unique DAMOWANG experience.
