Ah yes, the weekend. The only thing that motivates us to get through the long week. It’s crazy how short it can be. While many of us aim to relax, others want to keep it productive. So how does one keep productive with the time flying by so fast? Today, we’ve compiled a list of tips on how to make the most out of your weekend.
Have a Morning Routine.
While you’re probably thinking “It’s my day off, what morning routine?” you don’t want to wind up sleeping in too much. The last thing you want to do is stay up all Friday night and waste the rest of your Saturday away sleeping in. Try to keep your sleep schedule consistent and make the most out of your mornings. Take the time to make a big hearty breakfast, do a little workout, or walk the dog; any little errand that you normally don’t get the time to do during the weekday mornings before you head off to work.
Schedule Accordingly.
You obviously don’t want to think about the upcoming week already, but the sooner you plan it, the less stressful it will be later on. If you wanted to finish reading a book or take some time to get some extra work from the office done, then feel free to do so; however, try to refrain from a heavy workload and stick to small tasks that won’t make you as burnt during the weekdays. Your weekends should be for your side hustles. Tip: don’t make any deadlines for Monday, or else you’ll never get it done.
Organize.
When overwhelmed with work during the weekdays, sometimes things can get chaotic and you just don’t have the time to organize. When you have free time, small tasks such as cleaning your room or taking out the garbage will make you feel more comfortable going into the new week with a fresh start. You can also take this time to organize a meal plan and prep for the upcoming week so that you’re not left doing it last minute.
Catch Up With Your Social Life.
Everyone needs a social life but it can be hard to maintain one when everyone is busy with their own schedules. During the weekend, go out and have fun with some good company to take your mind off work. Socializing with others can help relieve stress; it can be reassuring to know that you’re not the only one going through a tough time, and talking it out with someone can improve your mood.
Self-Care.
I can’t stress enough how important self-care is. It’s never good to be burnt out, and everyone needs to rest occasionally. On your Sunday off, relax and take it easy. Throw on a face mask, put on a movie, and just enjoy your quiet night in. Having a little quiet “Me” time can do wonders, as it helps to put your mind at ease and gives yourself a nice break from your busy life. Always take care of yourself first, because you have to feel your best in order to give 100%.
