5 Pick-Me-Ups When You’re Having A Bad Day

We all have bad days. Life is tough darling, but so are you. If you’re looking for ways to boost your mood and take your mind off things, here’s our 6 pick-me-ups to help you get through a bad day.

Create an upbeat playlist.

While you’re in a down mood, you’re probably leaning towards listening to more depressing music that will fit with your emotions more. However, you should be doing the complete opposite; create a playlist that consists of more powerful and upbeat songs that will lift you up. Pro Tip: You can never go wrong with “God Is A Woman.”

Wear red lipstick.

Whenever I’m feeling down, I tend to put a little more makeup than I normally would, even if I’m lazy and not in the mood for it. Personally, I find that sometimes going for a bolder look makes you more confident and can lift your mood. As Audrey Hepburn once said, “On a bad day, there’s always lipstick.”

Pamper yourself.

If you’re stressed and down, pamper yourself! Take a hot bath, put on a face mask, light up some candles, and make yourself a hot cup of chocolate for the evening. Take the time to relax, take a breather, and call it a day. You deserve it.

Aromatherapy

Essential oils are a great way to brighten your mood. When the right scent is used in conjunction with a diffuser, you can stimulate parts of your brain to enhance mood, create a calming feeling and subside feelings of restlessness. Lavender is a highly recommended scent, as it is known for its healing properties in treating anxiety, restlessness, depression, and so on. So unwind, read your favourite book and turn on your diffuser.

Read some inspirational quotes.

If you need a motivational push, look up some quotes and sayings on Pinterest. There are many quotes that can inspire you to view things from a different perspective and change your outlook on life, which can put you in a better mental state when you’re not feeling your greatest.
