2018 has been a whirlwind of a year and it’s hard to believe that it’s *finally* almost over. And what better way to celebrate the end of a year than by looking back at the months passed. Pop culture have given us a lot this year, we were blessed with three new KarJenner babies, rap queens Cardi B vs. Nicki Minaj feuded, and Bradley Cooper shattered our hearts with his remake of “A Star Is Born”. But the gift that keeps on giving is celebrities and all their fashion do’s. Year after year, celebrities have set trends and inspired many shopping sprees with their enviable looks. And 2018 was no different. Here are just a few of the celebs who (with a little help from their stylists) have been killing the fashion game this year.
Ariana Grande
It’s no secret that Ariana Grande has had one hell of a year. From a broken engagement to the death of her ex Mac Miller, Ari has been through hell and back these past months. One thing that hasn’t faltered though, is her style. Miss grande is facing the world with her high heels on and signature sleeked pony intact. She manages to make an oversize sweatshirt look high fashion. Something I could only dream to accomplish. While her street style is effortlessly cool (read: comfortable), she knows how to bring it when the occasion calls. Case in point: her met gala dress. The girl dressed as a cathedral and it had me praising the fashion gods.
Victoria Beckham
As if the fact that she is married to David Beckham wasn’t enough to be envious over, VB was recently honoured with the People’s Choice Award for fashion icon of the year. And with her eponymous fashion label celebrating its 10th year, she couldn’t be more deserving. Her style is effortless and timeless, merging feminine details with classic silhouettes. I mean did you see what she wore to the royal wedding? Ultimate goals. Let’s just say there’s a reason she was called “Posh” Spice.
Olivia Culpo
I can’t be the only one who has become low-key (high-key) obsessed with Olivia Culpo this year. This former Miss Universe has been absolutely killing it with her style this year. A self-proclaimed fashion fanatic Olivia knows that life is a constant runway. The best thing about her style is that it’s easily attainable by us non-famous people. Want to cop it? Singer. Actress. Activist. Makeup mogul. Fashion designer. Style icon. There is nothing that Rihanna can’t do. This bold beauty is not afraid of making a statement and it’s clear that she has fun with fashion. The term “extra” doesn’t even begin to describe Riri’s style. Every look she wears she stays uniquely true to herself and lets her inner bad bitch shine through.
Winne Harlow
This Canadian model (and former America’s Next Top Model contestant) has been all over the runways this year. Most recently Winnie walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, alongside many other models of the moment like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Whether she’s strutting her stuff down the runway or catching a Raptors game, her bold fashion choices are sure to get her noticed. Winnie is making Canada proud and making me want to raid her closest.
Michael B Jordan
It’s 2018 and I believe in equality, so I had to include at least one well-dressed man on this list. That title goes to Michael B Jordan. We all know that he looks FIRE shirtless, but the man can also pull off a suit. Everyone’s dream boyfriend knows how to play up his style and can elevate a basic black suit to show off his personality. Just look at him in that bowtie. Ahem, I’ll be saving that one to my Pinterest wedding board.
