When we think of feminine and elegant fashion we think of Stephan Caras. Last season our team was introduced to his collections at Toronto Women's Fashion Week and were blown away by the intricate detailing on his designs. This season he showcased again at TW and our jaws were literally on the floor.
Showcasing a wide variety of couture pieces, Stephan Caras gave a new and elevated name to women's eveningwear.
For those of you who don't know (and if you don't have you been living under a rock!?), Stephan Caras is a Toronto based fashion designer. Focused on women’s evening wear, his collections are an "artistic expression and medium that can be celebrated and enjoyed by all women.”
We love that his major inspiration behind such beautiful pieces derived from the feminity that women exude, and that his ultimate goal is to materialize something that a woman can wear and express herself at her finest.
As an accomplished designer Caras has shown his collections in Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Osaka, Hong Kong, Athens, Cyprus, and Toronto. In addition, Caras’ status as a top tier designer has recently earned him a spot in CEO World Magazine and Runway Magazine’s “List of World’s Top 20 Fashion Designers”, as well as the “Top 25 Most Beloved and Inspiring Fashion Designers of the World”.
It was an honour to watch such an elegant yet vibrant collection and to witness first hand his pieces walk down a runway. With that, we managed to narrow down some of the top trends in his collections. From sheer to elegant detailing, here are the biggest trends from the FW18 Stephan Caras show:
Sheer Fabrics
Staying with the same theme as last season, Caras incorporated sheer components to almost every one of his pieces. By using embroidery and layering, Caras made the sheer looks elegant yet sexy. We loved the sheer jumpsuits.

Flower Detailing
Caras is known for his feminine floral detailing and this season he did not disappoint. The flower embroidery on his gowns not only added a pop of colour but added the necessary dimension to his pieces. We loved how he paired sheer gowns with delicate embroidery.

Tule Volume
This season Caras stunned with added volume - especially with his finale piece. Using colourful tule he managed to create lavish and eccentric looks. The tule he used not only gave volume but also added some very necessary color and texture, making the garments almost an experience rather than just a piece.
