In the fashion world, we're always one year ahead. If its summer 2017, we're looking at collections for summer 2018. If it's spring, we're already shopping for fall.
Since we're nearing the half way point of summer, I thought it was only fitting that we start talking about fall fashion. Today, we're going to look at some pieces that I think are essential for fall. Whether your starting from scratch or your looking to add in a few fun items into your wardrobe, these pieces can be versatile and mix with any style.
Knit Sweater
Nothing screams fall like a chunky knit sweater. They're comfy, cozy, and they look chic. Not to mention they're super versatile, I mean, they look great with denim or leggings.

Cropped Jeans
All the bloggers seem to be sporting this trend. Cropped jeans are an essential for any fashion forward individual. They're flattering on virtually any body type and instantly make an outfit look trendy. Not to mention they're awesome for the fall when it's not quite freezing out but also not that hot.

Long Coat/Jacket
Fall is the perfect time to start light layering. Having a quality coat or jacket that is long can help you layer more simply. Jackets and coats in my opinion look great as a focal point of the outfit (a bold patterned jackets looks great with a neutral outfit). My style is a little more bold, so I love wearing multiple prints and layering different colors.
Pointed Toed Booties
These are my obsession at the moment, I love pointed toed boots. They're trendy and just pull an outfit together. Depending on how comfortable you are, they can be high heeled or flat, and they'll still look chic.
