Health is #1

Health is very important to me. I think a lot of us take it for granted the fact that we are so healthy and have access to so many different foods and vitamins, and we really shouldn't. Although I love indulging in sweets and a pizza every now and then, I really strive to be the healthiest I can be.

I had a scare a couple months ago when I kept getting sick, week after week I just kept feeling ill, my body was legitimately giving out on me and I was terrified, I wasn't sure what I could do to prevent it. After weeks went by, I went to the doctors only to find out I was deficient in numerous essential nutrients, my Monster energy drinks and Mr. Noodles diet had to go.

I started substituting junk food with whole foods, introduced my body to Vega Powder (a nutritional vitamin supplement powder) along with a handful of other supplements and lastly incorporated exercise into my daily routine. I kid you not, within the first 3 days, I noticed a huge difference, things started to change mentally and physically. This short post is going to tell you a little about the differences I felt and how changing something as simple as your diet can change the way you live your everyday life.

The first major difference was my health, I used to get migraines (they run in my family) every few months, and by migraines I mean, headaches so bad I had to stay in my room with the lights off and windows covered for about 48 hours. And I haven’t had one since I changed my life style which is almost a year ago.I also used to get sick like every other week, which just brought my mood down and made me feel like a walking flu.

The second difference is my skin, I used to break out like crazy on my forehead and a little on my cheeks, after changing my diet my skin has never been clearer, I don’t even like wearing makeup anymore that’s how clear it has gotten.

The third huge change was my mood. Have you ever ate so much, or ate something terrible for you and you just feel like crap after? Like legitimate crap, and you don’t want to get up and do anything? That was me all the time, I constantly cancelled plans or stayed in bed all day because I felt like crap from the food I was eating. Changing my lifestyle gave me my energy back and gave me even more to do the things I didn’t think I could.

The last change is my weight. I’ve noticed a huge change with bloating in particular. When you eat foods that are full of artificial sweeteners or that are very dense you feel very heavy, almost like you are weighed down. The first week I felt so light, and then after a few weeks of exercising while consuming the right foods, my body completely changed, and I love it.

Now eating healthy doesn’t mean that I can’t/never indulge, I will eat whatever I want but less of the bad stuff and more of the good, i.e I can eat chocolate, but maybe a piece of chocolate and not the whole bar. Or I will have pizza once a month (without cheese cause I’m lactose, I know it’s weird) but I won’t have pizza every day or all day. I also really focus on eating whole foods with good nutritional value, thinking of food as medicine for my body, because it really is.

Anyways that my little schpeel on how my life has changed with healthy eating and adding a little exercise, if you wanna learn more about what I eat or what I do at the gym let me know :).

Thanks for reading and I'll see you in the next post!

Lots of loveeee
